From 1-4 September 2024, the UACES (University Association for Contemporary European Studies) Conference was held in Trento, Italy. Researchers from the Law Centre for Health and Life—Katrina Perehudoff, Pramiti Parwani, and Majd Alshoufi—actively contributed to discussions with their presentations.

On 1 September 2024, Katrina Perehudoff presented her research on "Re-historicizing Europe’s Pharmaceutical Industry and EU Law Through a Colonial Lens" in the session titled Colonial Legacies in the European Collective Memory.

On 2 September 2024, Katrina Perehudoff and Pramiti Parwani joined forces to present their work in the session on Re-Examining EU Activity in Pharmaceuticals at EU Level and Beyond. Perehudoff’s talk focused on "How the EU Influences Law, Markets, and Medicines in the Developing World," while Parwani shared a chapter from her Ph.D. research titled "External Trust and Regulatory Reliance on the EMA: Implications for Vaccine Access in LDCs."

On 4 September 2024, Pramiti Parwani chaired a session on The EU as a Global Health Actor – Between Securitisation and Cooperation. During this session, she presented her work on "Enhancing Vaccine Manufacturing Capabilities in Africa: A Critical Look at the EU’s Role," while Majd Alshoufi explored "State-building in the Southern Neighbourhood Through EU Health Policies and Actions: Where Do We Stand?"

We are proud of our team’s significant contributions to the UACES 2024 Conference and their work in shaping the conversation around health, law, and the EU’s role in global governance.
