Exciting opportunity for African scholars interested in pursuing a PhD programme in the field of law and health. The Law Centre for Health and Life is part of the GROW initiative and is open to research proposals on various topics, such as benefit sharing and governance of health data, access to medicines, EU-Africa relations concerning health, the health-environment connection, and more.

The GROW research program, led by TU Delft and involving five Dutch universities along with African academic and social partners, aims to appoint fifty-one PhD students for solution-oriented research addressing pressing African challenges like climate change, healthcare, clean water, and sustainable development. With half of its 6.9 million euro funding from the European Union, the program emphasizes co-creation with African partners and interdisciplinary research. It builds on previous successful research initiatives by African PhD students and seeks to recruit candidates from around the world to conduct pioneering research that can lead to impactful solutions, contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, with activities beginning in the summer of 2024.

Applications can be submitted online from 1 December and from summer 2024.
