On Thursday, 29 August, Alec Cali presented their work at the European Sociological Association’s 2024 Conference in Porto, Portugal. Their work explores how health crises influence trust in health systems and medical decision-making.

During the session on “Vaccination and (dis)trust: what sociology can teach us in the face of contemporary challenges” Cali shed light on the impact of public perceptions of policymakers, regulators, health institutions, and health crises like the opioid epidemic on American's medical decision making and trust.
